Goyang Global High School

Today we went to the Goyang global High School just outside the city centre. This is where Miss Kistnareddy from Nottingham Academy stayed for a month on a teacher exchange. The school were extremely kind and welcoming. To come to this school all students must pass a difficult exam in English. It is a boarding school which is partly funded by the government and is very modern.

The students gave us a tour of the school and took us to an art class. The British students were paired up with a Korean student and had to make fans for each other. There were some very talented artists! They asked us to design our fans based on our own culture using traditional Korean pens. Both groups of students did an excellent job and everyone appreciated their gifts.

You'll never guess who made this one... ;-)

Our day at GGHS was a real hit and all the students loved spending time together. Darnell from Nottingham Academy had a particularly good day. As the only boy in the group he was pulled along to play basketball... Little did they know he is very good at it and he ran rings around them!

We finished off the day by visiting a Lotte department store. It had a great number of floors and had something for everyone in the group. Paige bought some lovely earrings and Gaja and Miss Morton bought lovely dresses. Korean fashion is great, if only we had enough money and luggage space to buy more!

Our feet are killing us so we're looking forward to a 2 hour sit down on the train to Ulsan tomorrow. Time to say goodbye to Seoul for now... On to the next adventure... Home stays and our partner school!
